EVE SELIS WAVES

(Eve in a country 'n western frame of mind)

These wave files were extracted from the interview Eve Selis and Mark Intravaia did for mp3.com. Mark is the brilliant guitarist you hear playing on all of Eve's CDs. He composes the music for her songs. The interview is in two parts on Eve's mp3.com page and can be downloaded in its entirety. If you are wondering about the context of the following sound bytes, listen to the interview, where you will learn all kinds of fascinating things about Eve and Mark and the forthcoming Polka Monkeys CD.

It's easy to install these waves on your computer. When using Windows 98, right-click on the links and select "Save link as..." in Netscape Communicator, or "Save target as..." in Internet Explorer, to download the sound files to your harddrive. Copy the waves you like to the folder "C:\Windows\Media" then go to "My Computer" and click on "Sounds." You will be able to browse for the wave you want and link it to the Windows event of your choice, such as "Open Program" or "Exit Windows." Don't be afraid to try it. You can always go back to the old sounds.

For example, try copying the Wow clip (wow.wav) and the Check It Out clip (checkout.wav) into your Media folder, then link the Windows function "Menu Popup" to wow.wav and the function "Menu Command" to checkout.wav. You'll get a nice combination of Eve's voice every time you use your menus.
